Our verdict

Camunda's core idea is the process diagram as code: the business side draws BPMN, engineering deploys and executes it, and changing a process does not mean changing code. It is common in back-office workflows across manufacturing, insurance and banking. The learning curve is real, and using it for simple CRUD is over-engineering.

সুবিধা

  • The most complete BPMN implementation available
  • Business and engineering share one diagram
  • Self-hostable, so data stays on your own premises

অসুবিধা

  • Many concepts, a steep entry barrier
  • Too heavy for simple business logic
  • Enterprise pricing is not published

How to get started

1
Sign up and open a workspace

Sign up with email or Google on Self-hosted. The free tier starts right away — no card needed.

2
Run your first real flow

Skip the full import at first. Build one minimal example to check the model fits how you work.

3
Decide on paid after a week

Use it for a week, then see where the limit bites: seats, quotas, or permissions your workflow needs.

FAQ

Is there a free plan?
Yes — the Open source: free tier stays free. Enough for individuals and teams up to five; move to Enterprise: custom quote when you outgrow it.
Is it reachable from mainland China?
Not guaranteed. Reachability from mainland China is unstable; confirm network and compliance before rolling it out.
Are the UI and docs in Chinese?
The UI can switch to Simplified Chinese; docs and community content are mostly English.
Which platforms does Camunda support?
It covers Self-hosted / Cloud / Docker. Accounts sync across clients, so a mixed macOS/Windows team keeps the same setup.
What are the best Camunda alternatives?
The usual comparisons are Linear. Linear has a free tier, which is the cheapest way to start; The comparison table below lines up pricing and free quotas.
Can I export my data?
Most plans export CSV / JSON. Check that the export entry is open to your plan before you commit — it keeps history from getting stuck in an old workspace.
